Lets try this another way, you put 3.5BB into a pot trying to win 9BB... do you honestly think your hand is good enough preflop to SCOOP 1 in every 2.5 tries?

I dont think that hand wins 40% of the times, therefore your play is a losingplay, especially since you put your opponent on AA which means you are conceding they are ahead. As for putting opponents on AA, most players are playing hands like A2, A3, 32, etc, so you are losing the low most of the time and were damn lucky this time that it wasnt AA2x-AA5x you were up against.

Honestly, your hand is a better hand to play in PLO (regardless of what most people are saying) because you can call for 1 or 2 BBs preflop and drop the hand if you miss, whereas if you hit your implied odds are WAY bigger against AA than it is in FL.

All these people who insist that chasing is the way to go in FL miss the fact that your implied odds suck, so you are chasing after some crap 7th nuts hand and are often paying far more to draw than you can expect to gain bac over time.

THe types of hands you chase in FL are usually the pairs with backdoor flush and str8 draws, etc... but in FLO8 where the nuts and near nuts are the usual winners its senseless to chase some mid flush or str8 unless you put the other player on some sort of a hand where you think you can move them off their holdings.
