we have a home game once a month and use a great chip set and tables, we also use a poker clock on the pc to set the levels blinds and break just like a casino you can set the blinds and timer as you want and that runs your game for you as for rules play like you would in a casino but not to the letter as it takes away the fun abit

free clock http://www.homepokertourney.com/timer/timers.htm

or buy this softwere its well worth it http://www.pokerclock.net/

Check ‘n Raise Tournament Director’s Poker Clock’
Thats the best poker-homegame-clock in my opinion, freeware aswell,
PM me if you need the installer, seems they are not existing anymore.....

Default Additional Questions

When you are invited to play at a home game do you ask about the stakes and the games that are going to be played at the game before deciding whether you will play or not?

Please answer both parts of the question.

There will be a follow up set of questions to come later but I do not want to poison any responses by asking too many questions at once.

Thanks for the help and your thoughts.

I always ask what the stakes are and what kind of setup (sit n go, cashgame), then i decide if i join or not.
Sometimes viewing is more fun than joining
