Default WSOP Event #45

I went to Vegas and played in WSOP event # 45. It was my 1st tourney for more then $200. There were 2890 to start day 1. We start with 3000 chips. After 6 levels we had dinner break. At that point I was still sitting at right around 3000 chips. Over the next 2 hours I went on a bit of a heater. It all started with this lucky hand.

I was in BB around 3000 in chips with blinds 150-300 with a 25 ante'(getting short). I look down at Q 10 suited and it folds around to me. I push my 10 bb stack, watch the BB fold, think sweet....THEN...I hear someone say call...I am in set 1 and apparently the SUPER tight lady in seat 10 raised pre-flop and I missed it.. SHIT.. She shows AKos and I feel a little better.. I hit a Q on the turn and double up.PHEW..This is the only hand in this tourney that I had to come from behind to win. Every other hand I was at least a slight favorite.

By the end of level 8 I got moved to a new table and I had 34,000 chips..Well above the average of around 18000... I did the math and realized that if I did nothing stupid I would make day 2 with a decent stack and could cruise into the money... So I played the last 2 hrs. of day 1 like a nit. I basically sat on my hands for 2 hrs playing maybe 2 hands.

Day 2 starts with me having 22,800 chips...AVE stack..I was 151st out of 303 with 297 getting paid. After 2 hands I was in the money and it just came down to survival because I got absolutely no cards. I won 1 big hand all day.

I manages to weasel my way from $1848 to $5045 by being a survivor and not making any silly plays.. I ended up open pushing around a 5 bb stack from button with 9 10 hearts and getting called by the sb with J 8 os...I hit a 9 on flop he hit a turn J and I was left to go get my cash..

I had a great expirence at wsop. Beginners luck? Maybe. I could have played a little more aggressive but for a 1st big tourney I feel pretty dam good about it.
