Default I've got a question regarding player conduct in NDB tourneys

Hi,
I'm quite new on here and have only played a few of the tourneys. I've considered playing in more but the games haven't fit into my time schedule.

My question is,...'is it considered 'ok' on here to slowroll'? In today's tourney on UB, two players seeing the flop (I notice that they both are on pt. leaderboard... one I'm familiar with as I've seen them around a bunch, the other I've seen only once before (on here)). The shorter stacked player shoves onto a paired flop and the other player holding KK (flop was 5-5-K) decides to 'slowroll' them. Why? They sit there and let the timer run down and then hit call. I was sickened by the rudeness and immaturity of this. Is this kind of stuff typical around here.... cuz it really didn't seem to phase anyone but me. I just don't see the point of that crap at all.

Hopefully it's a rarity and not the norm (although I did have a player heckle me in the first game I played on here). Oh well... it's poker,... not always the healthiest of individuals on the tables. I suppose it's to be expected. Something about seeing someone get slowrolled though.... makes me kinda mad.

GL on the tables!

Maybe he was wasn't slowrolling and just trying to read the screen for any tells that you didn't have pocket 5's for quads to beat his boat - it's happened to me! I am so afraid to shove now it sometimes takes me the whole time plus my bank time to finally get the courage to shove it all in there no matter what I havee - especially with some ot the suckout artists here.........lol

I always thought slowrolling was when someone waits to show their hand even though they know they won the pot, trying to get the other player to show first, which I think is considered bad poker etiquette, but I guess you can only do that live..

But slowplaying I see quite a bit online.

Default Another possibility

Another possibility may have to with their connection. I have satellite internet and my connection seems to lag at times. I play, but the game doesn't respond until the end of the time. It happens to me every so often. I've played with these folks quite a while and I would be willing to bet that your slowroll was not intentional. This is just my opinion.

Only drama if you make the drama. I have seen some really sick plays here recently.

Something else to consider is if the player is trying to run out the clock to survive the 'bubble'. Even knowing/thinking you have 'the nuts', the longer you take to act, the closer you get to someone ELSE being the 'bubble boy' and yourself making the money.

Just a thought,

thats one way of doing it. sometimes you cant get your chips in if you bet ahead to a aggresive player. let him bet, its all part of the game.
same as trying to steal blinds with crap.
