You would call that hand with a preflop raise?

imo its absurd to play that in o8 but in a cheap game things like that happen.

I would call a pf raise with robs hand if I was shortstacked, or a huge stack.. not too many other reasons I can think of tho.

Guess I need to change my game up then. Personally would not call with those cards with a preflop raise. Not sure I would call with those cards at all.

Wink Early reviews are in and im the idiot

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but it doesnt tell the whole story. PLO8 is not my best game, so when Jenn critic me (lets say) I begin to wonder if I totally missed the boat here or did I play it correct or at least ok. Upon review, I would play it the same except I would have raised on the river. Here is how the story goes. Jenn and I are at the .05/.10 horse game, the game is PLO8.

The game is 6 handed, the hero (jenn) raises from 1P. In PLO8 I usually assume the opponent has AAxx. 2P calls. 3P the villian (my favorite role) calls. My hand is 7h3h5s8s, four low cards with 2 gaps and I am double suited (yes I know they are very weak flushes). In limit, I will play this hand almost every time. 4P folds. SB calls. BB calls. $0.50 now in the pot.

Now at this point, as I said i put Jenn on AAxx. Lets assume she has AsAc2s3c (what I consider to be the best PLO8 starting hand). This would be one of the worst hands I could be up against. I plugged this into the Omaha odds calculator at card player (if somebody knows of a better one let me know. I use poker stove for holdem and it allows you to put additional players in with a random starting hand, I didnt see the ability to do that in card player, results Jenn scoops 54.19%, Hi 60.49%, Low 39.08%, EE 69% --
My numbers are Scoop 17.32%, Hi 39.38%, Low 8.63%, EE 32%. These numbers are based on Jenn and I being heads up. So there may be a flaw in my logic here but the other 2 in the hand don't concern me at this point as I am 100% confident Jenns in the lead.

Flop is 9s7s2c

SB checks, BB checks, Jenn bets .05, 2P folds, I call .05 (11 to 1 odds on my call). I see this as a pretty good flop for me. I paired the 7, flush draw (which jenn criticized me for), inside straight draw and the 2 counterfits an A2 holding for low. SB calls, BB calls. Now $.70 in the pot.

Card player results: Jenn (Best hand) Scoop 51.83%, Hi 63.41%, Low 53.78%, EE 72% Me: Scoop 8.41%, Hi 36.59%, Lo 14.63%, EE 28%. Now again, this is against the AsAc2s3c hand. If we put Jenn's actually hand in the numbers are Jenn: Scoop 19.02%, Hi 39.63%, Low 25.98% and EE 40%. Me: Scoop 39.27%, Hi 60.37%, Low 43.17% and EE 60%.

At this point I am pretty happy except for the SB & BB are still in the hand. I look at this as really bad, as a larger flush is definitely possible and some of my spade outs are probably gone.

Turn: 10c

SB checks, BB checks, Jenn bets .10, I call, SB folds, BB folds.

Perfect. The 10c is really pretty good card for me. Increasing my straight draws. The SB and BB folding is the best news.

Card player results versus Jenns actual hand: Jenn: Scoop 30%, Hi 50%, Low 15%, EE 48% Me: Scoop 35%, Hi 50%, Low 30%, EE 53%. Even against the scenario with Jenn holding the nut flush draw the EE is Jenn 78% vs 23% and I am getting 8 to 1 on the turn call.

The river is the 7c.

Jenn bet .10 I called. Jenns chat box blew up.

I think I would play this hand the same again except for a river raise, although a flush on river is very reasonable for Jenn. From Jenn perspective I definitely play it the same. Only possibility would be to check the river but it very possible for someone to fold to her river bet with a better hand (small two pair).

For those still reading, hope you enjoyed the trip threw my mind. Hope you can find the exit because it a terrible place to be stuck.

Let the bashing continue!

Excuse me the chat box blew up? I think you are way over exaggerating here. I made the comment I can't believe you chased me down with that. Then I said I should take a screen shot for the forum. Maybe one or two other comments were made so don't go overboard here. And again I would lay your hand down preflop regardless. You play your way and I will play mine. I did not bring this here for you to bash me. I actually think I was pretty cordial about it. I have done nothing but congratulate you at the tables when I see you. I made a few comments about a play and you are the one that seems to be more upset than I was. I actually forgot about it until you actually came to my table last night while playing NDB and was a smart ass. You seem to have the problem here not me!

Hey Jenn,

I am not bashing you here. Sorry you took it that way, the chat box blow up was joking, but you did let me have it pretty good. I took it as friendly banter. I am very sorry I offended you. I thought this was an interesting hand and wanted to get everyone feedback. I think I played it right from my perspective but I wanted to see if anyone else agrees. I am by far no expert and thought it would be fun to discuss. I said you played it exactly the way I would in I had your hand. I wanted to post it to get some discussion going becuase my goal is to always impove, when were playing for millions then maybe we can bash each other.

Again, I did not intend anything I said to be bashing or rude. I looked at it as joking with a fellow player that I have played a lot with in a short period of time, and whos play I respect. Again very sorry you took it otherwise, I hope you will forgive me.
