I know the paid buy-in for the live OFC is not a done deal,
but AS USUAL, Jenn/NDB is most generous in offering it
Jenn, I said I would play for NDB, and I meant it, even if
I have to pay my own way. Fonzi posted the possibility of
the July 1-3, maybe the weekend before, but with 3 events,
a warmup, bounty tournament & main event. I hope you and
all NDB members can make it, can't wait to meet up with my
extended family

I am planning on playing OFC live this year. Been playing live 1-2 days a week since august(after 40 weeks I am leader in a points race)and I am going to play alot more online games the next few months(hockey is almost over). I am also playing in at least 1 wsop(probably only 1).. I am just waiting to see OFC shed. and structure so I can book my trip. I will be representing NDB at the OFC Live.

5:00-7:00 PM - Meet and greet. Players will also be able to register for the tournaments for Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
8:00 PM-Late - Gold Diggers Nightclub opens up 1 hour early for our group with a cash bar.

I thought this might be the right place to post about my recent trip to Vegas to use the Golden Nugget package that I won last year for finishing 4th in the OFC Live tourney. The day after the tourney, I went to the poker room to find out if there was an expiration date on the package since I didn't think that I could come back until March. I spoke to John the poker room manager and he said that that would be fine and that I would receive certificates in the mail. When I didn't receive the certificates, I emailed John and he said that he would make it easy, just tell him when I was coming and he would set it up. I was supposted to get 2 nights at the nugget and 2 buy-ins to their daily tournements. In January, when I knew the dates in March, I emailed John and told him but I heard nothing. To be sure that I had a room, I booked 3 nights and then emailed him again. Again I heard nothing and started to get worried so I sent him a 3rd email with again no response. I chatted at a forum game that I was not happy with the Nugget.

When i got to Vegas, I went to the poker room to see John and found out that he was in Atlantic City setting up the new poker room there. They were very apologetic, got me into the 2 tournements and said that they would comp 2 nights for me. They also gave me a ticket for a free lunch (which wasn't part of the original package). After I left, I got a call from John again apologizing and telling me that they comped all 3 nights.

The staff at the Nugget (and especially John and Tom his assistant) could not have been nicer. My faith in the Golden Nugget has been restored and I can't wait for Invade Vegas 2011 LOL.

That's great that there is still power in being a potentially pissed off patron. You didn't say how you did in the tournaments though.
