Pitbull iPod League - Final Game is Dec. 20th!

It's a $1.25 buyin, $50 added to the prize pool. (Extra cash tossed in so players who don't have a shot at the ipod can make some extra cash)...Everyone who plays will also earn 3 points towards the next league, to be launched in January.

Dec. 20th. 8 p.m. EST. Pitbull Poker. Password = freeipod

We have successfully played 7 of the 8 events. If this final event does not launch (if we don't get 10), we'll need to go ahead and just call it and award the leader the iPod. This is an easy decision. Check the leaderboard and do the math.

Banderasz has an 8 point lead. There are only 3 other players with an outside shot at winning the iPod. It could play out in the following scenarios:

1. If Banderasz finishes at least 4th in the final event, he wins the iPod outright.

2. Bobby wins the last event and Banderasz does not place in the top 5. Bobby wins the iPod by two points.

3. Bobby finishes 2nd and Banderasz does not finish in the top 5. Bobby and Banderasz are tied for the lead and play a freeroll heads up battle for the iPod.

4. Dylans Mom (my wife's account) wins the final event and Banderasz does not place. Banderasz and I would be tied for the lead and do the HU playoff.

5. F1ght1n1r1sh wins the final event and Banderasz does not place. Irish and Band finish tied for 1st and play the HU play off.

6. Potential 3 way tie if Irish or Dylans Mom wins, Bobby finishes 2nd and Banderasz does not place top 5. Then we'd play a 3 man SNG for the iPod.

As you can see, Banderasz almost has this thing completely locked up. With just 3 other players with an outside shot at it, we might have trouble getting 6 more players to join to get our 10 required to start it.

Given all of that, I think the most common sense thing to do is let the Dec. 20th game be the last, whether it starts or not, so we don't run this thing into the Christmas week.

I have an idea for the next league that I think could keep everyone interested, even if they fell behind in points. I'll post it and hope for some feedback!
