Default Question For Cash Tables

What are the rules? Are there really any? You hear so many different things. If you are down and hit big and your gut tells you to leave does that make you a bad player or as some say a hit and run! Just curious to hear what you all have to say.

Here is what happened. I was playing heads up. I had open ended str8 draw on the flop and he went all in after the flop and I called. He hit a set on the flop and I rivered the str8. It was a 145.00 pot. He started going crazy after his beat and on tilt and I told him if you are going to play like this I will leave. I stayed about 10 hands and finally got tired of him being on tilt and insane. That is when he called me a hit and run. So this again is my question? Should I have stayed but my gut said hell no leave. Was I scared no! I just could not handle his madness and felt like it was not real play.

You did the right thing. Typically you try to avoid gambling against maniacs and instead take a stand with a made hand, but you did and you hit.

It would be my guess that he's sitting with more than he can afford to lose, you see that A LOT, especially in heads up. When a guy drops 70% of his whole bankroll in one hand rather than blame himself he takes it out on his opponent.

Sorry you had to go through that, but you did the right thing. Take your winnings and find a more suitable opponent.

In that case leaving was fine since he was so far out of line but maybe for the future agree upon an amt of time before u start playing . I've never had these problems since the only cash games I play are 6m or full ring.

Not sure what you mean? So should players sit down with their players and make rules?

Well wasn't high stakes just a 25c/50c and never been approached with a time or standard "rule".

You did te right thing Jenn. Its not like you "went south" on him. There is nothing worse than playin someone who is playing in a "maniac" style, and in the end its just about having fun, so if its not fun def do not stick around and play. I got a feeling you may have earned a new stalker though...

Sometimes if I'm playing 1/2+ Heads Up you'll see one or both of us agree that nobody leaves until someone has all the money. This is because you pay such an insane amount of rake heads up, that unless you get it all it can cost you more than you make.

Since you made no arrangement, screw em'.
