well you could go either way I think, railers are good for moral support if they originally weren't in the tourny and just there to cheer your butt on. Then again you get these people that after they suffer a bad beat from you or you call w/ rags (suckout) they stick around and harass you throwing insults, racial comments, just being plain rude throughout the tourny then they shouldn't be allowed, but thats why theres the option just to mute chat so if someone is bully railing me i just turn chat off and that is that......or are you talking about a different railing I don't know about?

I've played in games where observers weren't allowed to chat. Then only thing that bothered me was that included players that just hit the rail. No customary GG's were allowed. With the ability to turn off observer chat, I don't think it's needed.

Since I rarely bother to read the chat - unless an entertaining exchange of words breaks out I couldn't care less. Occasionally a snide or derogatory comment aimed at me has helped to re-focus my game. So type away rail-birds, type away.

I think they should be allowed. If they bother you, you can mute them.

The other night I was having a discussion with a guy at my table, 10 players left. I get knocked out, didnt allow railbirds to chat at the final table. Couldn't finish our discussion or wish the other players a good game. Didn't think that was right at all.
