Default Missing the flop with small pairs in NLH

These are some suggested plays if your small pair misses the flop..

All in all, if you get raised, you should probably check out of the hand.

If you did not raise preflop, you did not show strength and you will hope to check it down to a showdown.

If you did raise preflop, you should bet the flop and get rid of your opponent. If you get called, do not lead out on the turn and river unless you strongly think your opponent is on a draw.

The third play is tricky because it can lose you a large pot, but play one and two are bad to do repeatedly because you will grind your stack into nothing. Focus on your opponent a lot and make the best judgement according to the read you have on them. Also focus on how tight or loose your opponent is, it can be to your great benefit with hands like these.
