Default Omaha HI

Mainly FAO: LDJ but feel free to read lol

6 max omaha hi strategy;

  • If your going to call, you might as well open the betting
  • Be on the lookout for AAxx players who make it blindingly obvious. Take a similar approach to set mining in holdem - position and/or deep. But be sure to have a small field too
  • don't 3bet AAxx out of position unless either against lone raiser or you can get most of the money in pre
  • 3 bet at the bare minimum AAKx with a suit or such connected hands. Try not to 3bet AA27 no suits in ANY position unless you can get the money in
  • go broke on middle or top set, if you play sensible openers you generally wont hit bottom set
  • 2 pair is an iffy go broke hand. Don't go broke on less than Kings up (unless you have like AK87 on 872 board maybe)
  • I THINK AKKx is good to ship in pre-flop, but i prefer to see flops with such hands. If raiser is weak then by all means ship it. But DONT do it without the A.
  • NEVER ship anything less than AKK pre-flop UNLESS on the odd occasion you have a nice 6789 or 4567 vs two tight shovers (who probably have the higher end covered) - your not ahead but your 3way equity is generally 33% at worst
  • If you 2bet in pos and get 3bet re-popped then use your judgement but generally play it like set mining - you have no expectation to bluff but you bet on him mis-repping his strength on the flop
  • Keep bluffing down, but by all means have the occasional stab if you raise pre, the board comes all hearts but not you, and he checks etc. Thats a common sense cbet
  • basically just tight aggro. Positionally aware and you should have no problem

opening hands (for me - may vary)
  • any run of 4 cards from any position
  • AAxx for an open or 3bet if double suited or single suited with some other options
  • hands like KT24 double suited i'd open personally but you can chuck them
  • 2 paired hands (4455 etc)
  • suited aces with a run (A567 etc)
  • KKxx and MAYBE QQxx at a push
  • then the rest is bordering shite

as for seeing flops, i've taken real horseshite to the flop when someone has advertised a rough AA (you will be able to spot the ones who would ship a rough AA). But meh thats iffy

hope that helps man, i'm not THAT good at PLO (0.88 bb/100 over 33k hands - 24 tabling)

You used to rock PLO, but yeah that basically confirms my basic strategy.

I will post some HHs later on. I play a lot more plo8, but I have been getting more into plo lately

Their opening hands were polarised to AA or KK only. They loved to limp.

cost me $4.50 to see a flop with 0.28EV threeway

and i got $30 in with 0.64EV.

Believe me when i said i snap called them.

You dont get them often but if your willing to take a risk or 2 these guys can be very profitable indeed. As usual tho i took right crap to the flop

nice pot

so basically if your opponents are almost certainly on AA or KK you will mix it up with any sort of hand at all and hope to flop 2 pair or better?

Omaha Hi low is the world's second most popular poker game. One reason for the popularity of Omaha hi low is that you are initially dealt four hole cards to play instead of just two as in Texas Hold'em. So players find a lot of hands to play. Creating a lot more action around the game. Lots of action equals bigger pots. Omaha is a high low split game. Players start with four "down" cards.

Default Omaha HI

Omaha Hi lo is a types of Texas Holdem game. Below are some tips that can be useful to play this game.

1.If you’ve got a good hand, bet aggressively.
2.Lets say you have the nut low with an extra card. Bet and call, but avoid raising. Since bluffing is not much of a factor, you’re raising may very well push players out.
3.Unlike the previous tip, if your hand is the nut low and drawing to a high hand, raise from late position. You’ll win the low and possible win it all. If you do win it all, there will be more money in the pot.
4.Good ole pot odds. If your on a draw to the best hand and need to decide whether to call, consider the pot odds. If the pot odds exceed the odds against making your hand than make the call.

In Omaha Hi Poker, the player needs to finish with the best poker hand and win the pot. Omaha Hi is similar to both Texas Hold'em and Omaha Hi-Lo. Although the rules of Omaha Hi Poker are easily to learned, it is still a poker that requires a certain amount of skill. Follow these tips and strategies to increase your chances of winning:
# You are looking for a high hand only -watch out for low cards.
# Straight and flushes are common since there are five community cards to choose from.
