Yes, I think in this case, as ninixnini said, you are in survival mode. You said you were well assured of making the top 5 so with that comment and in this structure you can make the case for folding AA as well as AK!

There is a great question in various poker books - seven players remain in a tourney and five have gone allin . You look down and have AA - what do you do. Unless you have a monster chip stack and losing will not affect your chances - you fold of course. The underlying principal is the same as your situation - unless the reward is greater than the risk why take it.

AK seems like a real easy fold here. You don't want to stuff you're chips in with AK and be and underdog to any pair. People say coinflip all the time but the truth is AK os is only around 47% against pairs. If it is suited it is close to even. The question is after playing for hours to get this far why the heck would you want to put you money all in as an underdog(even if your only a slight 1). Sit be patient hope a shorty busts out. Wait until it is necessary to play. It may be right to fold AA, but I am going to play it 100% of time here because of the high win % of AA heads up. I am never embarassed about loseing when I get it all in pre flop with AA or KK..
