Its so rare that I actually make a final table (I did Tuesday on the Cake NDB tourney
that I felt a bit out of my element - sad isn't it.I found the below as I looked through my notes that night- what do you guys and gals think? * Final Table- At the final table of a poker tournament, you must base your choices on how your opponents are playing -- in other words, what they’re giving you. If the table is playing passively, and everyone is waiting for others to get knocked out, that's your cue to drive the lane and play aggressively. Conversely, if there are overly aggressive, wild players at your table, then the best course of action is to sit back and wait for them to pick each other off. You cannot win a tournament when there are still nine players at the table. So, your goal in the early stages of final table play is to set yourself up for the short-handed battle to come. |

i like to sit back a little when i have the chance ya many people will say this is a bad idea but for smaller buy ins you are a lot of the time dealing with beginners who are like you say uncomfortable at the final table because lets face no matter who you are its nice to make it too the final table and you would like your stay to be as long as possible.
But you will see a lot of players that read what u have and will go with what they think is the right amount of aggression, but often you see people go all in with A7o with a pretty good stack "happened several times just yesterday so im not makin it up" now thats clearly over agressive no matter how the table is (givin its a full table) also your stack really decides your play if u got big stack your obviously going to play more aggressive than the short stack |
