thank u jsawe someone else who agrees with me. as soon as i found out it was limit it totally made sense. if any play in the hand was a donk play i think it was playing the 89 off. but with it being limit and factoring pot odds in it was justifiable play. if hes going to play the 89 off in limit what else is he going to do but call with straight draw on flop? finally someone who understand limit poker. for the rest of u i recommend hellmuths hold em. it has a very good limit section

Ok I will say my say again! Anyone that plays 89 off suit with a preflop raise then I want your book on how to play. Maybe I shouldn't be playing poker????????????????

Bad luck Jenn but you want calls like this. Acording to Sklansky you should be thrilled to see calls like this and you want to play this person alot but they have to win one once in a while or they would go away. Moan and groan here to get it out of your system and then go pound him back down and just leave my stack alone - remember when I bet I always have the nuts!

WOW! a little testy over nothing. I never said I knew anymore than anyone else. All I have to do is figure out pot odds like anyone else would do. That is the reason why I said at first not enough information was available. Of course playing the 89 off is a bad play nobody is disputing that. But once he limps in late position with the hand, guess what your raise means nothing in limit poker, hes going to call the raise and in turn it kinda build the pot and prices him on flop.
