It’s March Madness time again! This time of the year is almost like Christmas for a sports junkie. For practically an entire month, we get to enjoy edge of your seat basketball games, and for those of us in the gambling public, a chance at some nice profits from brackets and betting. Here is your first chance:

You don’t have to be good at picking winners to have a shot at winning a bracket challenge, to be honest. It takes a lot of luck to win one of these. That’s one thing that makes NCAA Tournament Basketball so magical is there is always some crazy ‘Cinderella’ team that goes a lot further than anyone predicted.
March Madness 2017 – Important Dates!
Selection Sunday is March 12th.
First Four is March 14-15. This is two games where teams that are barely qualifying have to play their way into the “big dance”.
First and Second Round are played March 16th and 18th.
Midwest and West Regional’s take place on March 23rd and 25th.
South and East Regional’s will be March 24th and 26th.
Final Four – April 1st
Championship – April 3rd
As of this posting, the teams with the best odds of winning include:
Gonzaga (yes, Gonzaga!)
Villanova (reigning champs!)
I always like to put some money on teams that have a legit shot at going all the way, but pay much better than betting a favorite. Here are a few to research if you want to do the same:
Butler – They have beat defending champ, Villanova. Twice!
SMU – The Mustangs have won 20 of their last 21 games. Not a lot of teams hotter than this.
Iowa State – These guys have beaten some good teams, and have one of the best point guards in Monte Morris. He’s a senior, and leadership means a lot in big games!
I will blog post some of my crazy bets in a couple of days. Half my winnings usually get given away, so here’s to a crazy long shot winning it this year.
